In
1858, Henry Clarke and his fiancée Annie Martin
purchased a section of land which they named
‘Stonyfell’, after the stony slopes in England
called the ‘fells’.
On this land in 1860, Henry and his wife planted the original Stonyfell vineyard with 20 acres of Black Portugal grapes.
It is here where Montego Estate wines have continued the history of Stonyfell Winery by producing quality wine of the highest standard.
In 2001 Montego Estate was established to supply finished wines for “Private Labels” both domestically and internationally.
In 2008 we celebrate the 150th
anniversary of the production of quality wine at the
Stonyfell Winery
